Bright Eyes Home Daycare
Childcare terms
The terms of our agreement are as follows
Days of care -Weekdays (excluding holidays listed bellow) 7:30am-5:15pm
*Extended Care option: Early mornings only if agreed upon during enrollment!!-6am to 7:30am at $5 for every 15 minutes
Fees for care : $150 per week (Full time) $150 per week (part time)
I will review my rates yearly to decide at that time if they will change or stay the same. I will also change rates according to State rates changing.
The tuition price is for your contracted hours, not the hours that I am open!!! Full time care cannot go over 9 hours and 45 minutes a day unless agreed upon ahead of time and includes 9 hours and 45 minutes a day, five days a week. Anything over 9 hours and 45 minutes a day /47 hours and 25 minutes a week will be charged $2 a minute for every minute of time that it goes over. Also, coming before 7:30am will be $2 a minute and $2 per minute past 5:15pm. (If overtime occurs repeatedly without approval it would result in loss of daycare)
Fee is to be paid: weekly, by means of cash only (due on Mondays before care is provided)
Payment does not vary due to parental vacation, holidays that I close for, personal days taken by myself or illness of myself or child.
Caregiver’s vacation: I will shoot for either the month of June or July unless several families have a different month in mind for their own vacation, in which case I may do this another month -1 week, each calendar year. Parents are given at least 8 weeks notice. It is the parents responsibility to find back up care. I do try to keep a list of backup providers on hand!
Payment is not required when caregiver takes summer vacation.
A 2-week non-refundable deposit is required. The deposit is required immediately once the agreement is signed by all parties (parents and caregiver) and will be applied to the first and last weeks of care (I must have at least a months notice that your child will be leaving in order for the deposit to cover the very last week of care! If I am given less than a months notice then you will still be responsible for paying for a months worth of daycare! It takes me at least a month to find a replacement that is a good fit so please give me as much notice as possible!).
LATE PAYMENT FEE
$10.00 per day that payment is not received. Therefore, if the fee isn’t paid by Monday morning, a late fee of $10.00 will be due with your payment. Continued late payments will result in termination of our agreement.
Late or early drop offs
Children cannot be dropped off any sooner than 7:30am or later than 9am unless agreed upon at enrollment! 9 a.m. is as late as kids are allowed to come or they cannot stay for the day if parent arrives late unless agreed upon at enrollment! I do not open until 7:30am so the door will not be opened before that exact time in the morning.
Late drop offs cut into much of their preschool time and it's disruptive to our daily routine to have families dropping off late in the morning so please try to keep this in mind in the mornings. I am, of course, flexible with this in case of Dr. appointments etc... as long as it is not occurring all the time.
Early pick ups
My other kiddos do not leave until 5pm so that is a great pickup time for new kids coming in as well. I like to keep the drop offs and pickups somewhat the same for all kiddos. I have important closing activities that I do not want kids to miss out on so it would work out nicely if you wait until this time for pickup so they can be involved in the plans of the day. I am flexible though, so if there is something like a Dr. appointment, sports or other activity that you need flexibility for this rule because of please just let me know in advance. That way I am able to plan for who will and will not be there for activities.
Late pick ups
After the closing time, the late charge will be $2 a minute. Late charges will be added into the weekly rates. If you are late picking up your child, you will be notified of the approximate late fee. If for some reason you know you are going to be late, please call me to let me know. No late charges will take place if prior arrangements are made and agreed upon. If you are going to be late dropping off your child, please notify me as soon as possible, this allows me to plan meals and activities accordingly. Continued late pick ups will result in termination of our agreement.
EXTENDED LEAVE
In cases of extended leave (children absent from day care due to holidays, family vacation, illness of the child or myself, inclement weather etc.) I will require you to pay the regular weekly fee for each week your child is absent to hold a day care spot.
Trial Period & Termination Policies
The initial 8 weeks of care is considered the trial period (meaning, I understand that within this time some kiddos are not going to be a perfect fit so please let me know as soon as possible if you feel like they just aren't thriving here and I will do the same if I feel that way) . All children require time to adjust to the daycare surrounding and routine. During the trial period frequent communication is required between parents and caregiver to ensure the child is happy in care. If either party wishes to terminate the agreement they must give at least 1 month notice. After the trial period I will confirm that the care is permanent. Termination on my part would be due to extreme cases of the following: child refuses to respect adults, children who are flight risis, negative behavior from child/parent without noticed change, extreme yelling , hitting, biting, problems with napping (children under five are required by law to nap in a daycare setting so please let me know if this would be a problem), continued potty accidents after they are of age to be potty trained , Continued late pickups/drop offs, Late pay or no pay, inability to agree to my holidays off (or repeatedly arriving on those days), inability to provide the required supplies that I request for the child, especially diapers and wipes!!! Sending the child with extra items such as gum, toys, or odd items such as cell phones/credit cards ( I've had all kinds of weird things sent with children in the past!), Damaging, climbing or pulling on my property such as furniture, curtains or toys (kiddos have to respect all items in my home), Sending the child sick or before their 24 hours has passed without them being fever free after being sick, I am very serious about this one, sending sick children gets me and other children sick and cannot be tolerated! I am very laid back and can tolerate mild misbehaving but I cannot tolerate children with extreme behavioral issues at my daycare because it is not fair to the other kids or to me so please be honest with me before I have you sign any contracts for daycare so that all of us can be happy with our decision to start your kiddo at Bright Eyes. If the parent decides to terminate care or their child becomes old enough to leave for school please give me as much notice as possible so I have plenty of time to fill the opening. Also, if 1 month notice is not given then the last weeks deposit will be used to cover one of the weeks of that month and the remainder of the months pay is still due.
The daycare is closed for the following holidays
New years day, January 21st (personal day), February 12th (personal day), February 18th(personal day), March 1st (personal day), April 19th (personal day),May 8th(personal day) Memorial day, July 1st(personal day), 4th of July, August 30th (personal day), Labor day, September 24th (personal day),October 14th (personal day) Halloween, November 11th (personal day), Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Vacation (Dec 24th-Jan 3rd I charge when I take this break!), New Years day and a one week provider vacation taken by myself each calendar year (This should be in June or July so please try to either plan your own family vacation around when mine will be or communicate with me when you plan to take one and I could possibly change when I go on mine!!! Only if I take this vacation would payment not be required. If I do not use it I will use these days for field trips with my children, doctor appointments or personal days.
The items listed as follows will be supplied by the parents:
A months worth of snacks, please bring this at the beginning of each month. Most families bring a very large container of goldfish because they last a long time!) I provide special snacks as well but these snacks are very helpful to me during our busy days so please send quick and easy snacks that you think your child would enjoy. A months supply of diapers and wipes brought at the beginning of each month and also when I alert you that you are running low, cream, baby bottles, special diet food, sunblock (organic skin safe ones preferred), bug spray (organic and skin safe), closed toed croc or velcro type sandals for hot weather (No open toed shoes please!), weather-appropriate changes of clothing including a swim suit with rash guard (they look like a surf suit and have sleeves and will protect shoulders from sunburn) and closed toed swim shoes during the hot months and a coat with a hood that fits , snow hat (ski masks work great if you can find one that's child size), mittens( It would be amazing if you could send mittens instead of gloves with five fingers, small children have a tough time putting the five finger ones on when we go outside) and scarf during the cold ones. Rain gear that can be left here, including clothes that can get muddy, rain boots and a raincoat. (we go outside in all weather that is not too hot or too cold so will need clothing for all seasons). Please send child each day in tennis shoes, boots if it is rainy or snowy or closed toed croc type shoes if it is hot out. Long pants and long sleeved shirts if it is chilly out or shorts and a tshirt if it is hot.
The items and services provided by the daycare:
(Backup Diapers, cream, wipes, bottles, sunblock, bug spray and swim suits) Formula, Baby Food, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (if needed) and extra snacks .
Nap time
No drop offs or pick ups are allowed during nap time hours which are 12:30pm-3pm (unless, of course, there is an emergency) This is extremely disruptive to other sleeping children and not allowed.
Sick children
must stay home if...
- Fever of more than 99 degrees
- Unexplained rash or sore
- Discharge from eyes, ears or nose
- Vomiting or Diarrhea
- Productive cough or dry cough lasting more than 1 week without doctor attention
- Any illness or injury that keeps a child from participating in regular activity
Sick children will remain at home if they have a fever, a known contagious illness, or are vomiting.
Fevers are common in young children and are often a signal that something is wrong. If your child has a fever of 99 degrees or higher, please keep him or her home. If your child develops a fever of 99 degrees or higher while in my care, you will be called to pick him/her up. My policy is that your child must remain free of fever for 24 hours before returning to childcare. This means that if your child is picked up at 3:00 p.m., but still has a fever at 5:30 p.m. or later, he/she cannot return to my daycare the next day. The 24 hours begins when your child’s fever has broken and remains in a normal range.
Diarrhea due to illness is highly contagious. If your child has diarrhea, please keep him/her home.
Do not give child fever reducer and drop at daycare as this only masks the illness and they can still spread germs to others and parents are always called in this situation to pick up.
If your child vomits while at daycare, you will be called immediately to pick him/her up. I understand that it is very hard to leave work at times due to a sick child but please try to put yourself in the daycare providers shoes and understand that one sick child can quickly get every other child sick at daycare as well as the provider, resulting in myself having to close due to being sick and multiple families suffering as a result. Other parents will have issues with sick children so please be respectful of this rule.
Custody Cases
Parents who go through court for custody of their children are not to ask me to get involved in any way at all! This includes asking me to testify for you and discussing/complaining about the other parent. Forcing me to get involved will result in immediate termination of daycare. It is inappropriate for me to get involved and I am unable to attend court since I run a home business. Please respect this rule!
MEDICATION
Parents must notify me of any medications given to their child prior to arriving at daycare. This will enable me to monitor their child for any side effects. I will administer medication(prescription and non-prescription) if needed with written authorization from the parent/guardian. All medication must be in the original container with the child’s name clearly written on it. Written instructions with the child’s name, dose and times must be included.
MEDICAL EMERGENCIES
In case of serious accident or sudden illness requiring medical attention, the following procedures are followed:
- Call 911
- Parents or emergency contacts are called.
- Child will be sent to local hospital.
I will authorize only medical care that is serious enough that it must be administered immediately and cannot wait until the parent arrives.
These health policies are critical to ensuring the health of all children in my care , I appreciate your help and support.
Releasing a child from daycare
Unless I am instructed in writing to do otherwise, Bright Eyes Home Daycare will only release a child to the following persons:
(1) the child’s parent(s),
(2) the child’s custodial parent (when applicable),
*(3) the emergency contact person, and
*(4) any other guardian to whom the parent, by way of a written authorization, allows us to release the child.
*ID MUST BE SHOWN
Outside Time/Basement Playroom
We enjoy playing both inside and out as well as going for walks so I try to text parents when we move to a different location close to pickup times. I do ask that if I tell you we are downstairs or on a walk that the parent call or text me before pickup because I am unable to hear the doorbell from downstairs and would like to head close to my house to meet you if on a walk.
